Our Story

The Master Barber was established in Colchester, Essex, in 2007 with a clear vision: to introduce a new standard of modern barbering and men’s grooming to the town. At that time, Colchester had only a small number of traditional barbershops, and we are proud to have been among the pioneers who helped shape the modern barbering industry locally.

Over the past two decades, we have witnessed the remarkable growth of men’s haircare and grooming, and we are proud to have played a significant role in that journey.

Since opening our first shop, we have successfully established six barbershops across Colchester. Throughout this time, we have trained and mentored many talented barbers, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed to establish their own successful businesses. Today, many independent barbershop owners in Colchester began their careers working with us, and we are proud to have contributed to the growth and success of the local barbering industry.
